I've been to Northshore a few times now for brunch and lunch, and in my opinion it's one of Osaka's best brunch spots. The menu has plenty of options - both sweet and savoury and there are always some vegetarian options available. Northshore opens early in the morning (which isn't so common in Japan), so it's a great little spot to enjoy a relaxing breakfast.
Northshore is located over two floors, each with their own menu, so check the menu outside carefully before being seated.
The meals you see in this blog post were from the first floor of Northshore, which has both indoor and outdoor seating. The upper floor has indoor seating only, so if you plan to sit outside be sure to get a table on the ground floor.
I suggest sitting out on the terrace and enjoying the view of the river and gardens across the river, although the view from the inside isn't bad either.
The shrimp sandwich you see below was absolutely massive. I ended up taking half of it home with me and eating it for dinner, as I couldn't finish it at lunch time. Due to the size of the sandwich it was a bit difficult to eat and quite messy (very Instagrammable though!), so keep that in mind if you're going there on a first date ;)

The berry pancakes were great and definitely something I'd order again - fluffy soufflé pancakes with lots of berries, whipped cream and syrup.
Please note that Northshore doesn't accept cash, so you'll need to pay by card.
Once you've finished eating why not walk across the bridge and explore Nakanoshima Park and Rose Garden? The garden is popular with office workers during the week, and often filled with families enjoying the fresh air on weekends. It's a great place to relax, with a beautiful view of the river.
If you're in the area to cafe hop, be sure to check out Brooklyn Roasting Company and Garb Weeks, which are both close by.

Those berry pancakes look AMAZING--what a find! I don't eat shrimp, but I have to admit it's a tasty looking sandwich. Thanks for sharing the name in both English and Japanese so it's easier to find :)
Looks like a great brunch spot! That's probably the prettiest pancake presentation I've ever seen! That'd definitely be my go-to.
I love a good Brunch and this looks absolutely delicious! Pancakes are one of my go to's whenever I travel. Great tips about making sure you have a card on you too!
